How Skyaks work

  • Parked at the Skyak Dock, on the edge of Camp Dojo
  • Fly out to your own island, or drop in on a friend's
  • Yours stays private, and grows every time you unlock a build zone

Parked at the end of the pier.

A row of them under a red roof, noses pointed at the sea. Orange, round, faintly ridiculous. Nobody owns one. Take whichever is closest.

Pick a place. Push off.

The Skyak drops onto the water and lifts. The dock falls away, the camp swings past your shoulder, and you're over open blue before you've decided anything.

A Skyak lifting off the water beside the dock, with another parked on its stand and the camp behind.
Off the water, and up.

Then it's you and a lot of sea.

The red roofs shrink to specks. If the Shippelin is up, you go under it. Nothing to steer around, nothing to hit. Just the crossing.

Your island. Exactly as you left it.

You come in low over your own dock. Nothing moved. Nothing built that you didn't build. It's yours, and it stays yours.

Coming in over your own dock.

Now make it bigger.

It starts as a scrap of sand. Unlock a build zone and more ground comes up out of the sea. Keep going and it turns into somewhere with roads.

A small private island in open water with new ground appearing after a build zone unlock.
More ground, straight out of the sea.

Or go and be nosy.

Pick a buddy who's online, fly over, and land in the middle of whatever they've spent all week building. Then fly home and beat it.

Looking down a street on somebody else's island: roads, crossings, lamp posts and a white building they built themselves.
Somebody else's whole town.
