The Moon Tide Controller

  • A dial on the island that turns the moon, and the moon drags the whole sea with it
  • Crank it up and the island floods. Swim where you used to walk
  • Crank it back and the water drains, uncovering whatever the sea was hiding
  • The crabs brought it in. It washes out with them on June 28

One column. The whole sea.

Welcome to the Moon Tide Controller. Tucked inside the Crabs and Pizza event on Dojo Islands, it's a single dial out in the world, one little column with the moon set into the top. Walk up, give it a turn, and the entire ocean does what you tell it to. It is, with no exaggeration, a way to break the game.

A character swimming between half-sunken buildings on Dojo Islands.
Streets, but as channels. You swim now.

The crabs did this.

They got to the moon, gave it a crank, and the sea came up over the island. The thing they used is still out there. Walk up, give it a turn, and the real moon turns too. The moon pulls the tide, so the second it moves, every drop of water on the island climbs at once.

The island at high tide, water swallowing the paths between buildings.
High tide. The paths are gone.

Catch it while you can.

The controller came in with the crabs, and it sails back out with them on June 28. After that the sea goes back to behaving itself, which, honestly, is a lot less fun.

The same area drained at low tide, dry ground and a racetrack back in view.
Turn it back, and the land comes home.

Turn the moon while it's still yours to turn. Gone June 28.
